DB2 MKC 306 Built Spring 1951 Chassis LML/50/57

This famous and much raced car can be seen  racing in the UK throughout the season.  Originally the car was ordered from the factory by Peter Clark to race in the 1951 Le Mans race where it finished 13th , 6th in class. It was prepared for him by the works under the eyes of amongst other Tony Tocock. Peter Clark entered the car again in 1952 ( 7th , 3rd in class)  and 1953 this time fitted with a Wade supercharger for which it was refused entry and put on the reserve list. It was not allowed to run.

Later it had a four SU set up built by the Works and fitted but it never appeared to provide much more power.

The car was sold in 1954 to a Dr Green of London who used it as a road car for a year or two before offering it for sale in Motor Sport in 1956 whereby it was purchased by the current owner Colin Campbell. It was then used as an everyday car for some years with occasional use in AMOC events. In the late 1950's Colin started racing and doing speed events again and was a regular attender at meetings of the AMOC throughout the 60's and 70's. The car lapsed from regular use into the 80's remaining in the garage, but after a Jack Moss rebuild in the mid 90's was back out again with the AMOC Historic grid.
The car visited Le Mans in 1998 and again in 2001 along with most of the other team DB 2's for parade laps as part of the "Cavalcade" .Colin continues to be a regular competitor on the Historic Grid after more than 50 years of ownership!
